Yoodoo vs Routinery: ADHD routines or your whole day?

Routinery is great at one thing ADHD brains find hard: getting through a routine without drifting off halfway. Pick it for your morning and evening routines. Pick Yoodoo when you need the whole day to hold together: tasks and meetings on one timeline, and one tap to re-fit it when it slips. Lots of people could use both.

  • You want tasks and meetings on one timeline, and one tap when it slips.
  • Your phone is the distraction, and you want a blocker built in.
  • You want Yoodoo to tell you when it's time to leave.

Pick Routinery if…

  • Mornings and evenings are where you get stuck, and you want a voice walking you through each step.
  • You want to run routines from your Apple Watch.
  • You love streaks and watching a little plant grow.
  • You want a habit app more than a planner.

My take

I've used Routinery, and I really like it for mornings. A voice telling you the next step is such a simple fix for drifting off mid-routine.

The thing to know is what happens after the routine. Routinery gets you out the door. It doesn't know about your 11 o'clock, or what to do when that runs over.

I make Yoodoo, so I'm biased, but honestly these two can live side by side. Routinery for the routine, Yoodoo for the day. If you only want one, pick the one that fixes the part of your day that goes wrong most.

Where Routinery shines

Routinery turns a routine into a string of small steps, each with its own timer, and a voice tells you what’s next. For ADHD brains that lose track of time halfway through getting ready, that’s a big deal. Its store listing calls it daily time management for ADHD.

There’s habit tracking with streaks, a plant that grows as you keep going, weekly and monthly stats, widgets, and an Apple Watch app so you can run a routine from your wrist. It’s on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android. Have a look at routinery.app.

If your mornings or evenings are the hard bit, Routinery is a great pick.

Where Yoodoo is different

Routinery handles the routine. Yoodoo handles the day around it.

Your tasks and meetings sit on one timeline, with the free gaps right there. Your morning can be a day template you drop on your day in one tap, and Yoodoo tells you when it’s time to leave, travel time included. Ask Yoodoo plans your day when you just say it. And the app blocker keeps your phone out of the way, on a schedule or when you start focusing.

Routinery’s step-by-step voice is something Yoodoo doesn’t do. If that’s what gets you through, keep it.

When your day falls apart

Fix my day notices when something runs over or doesn’t start, asks one question, and fits the rest of today around what really happened. Meetings and locked things stay put. Your most important task is protected. What doesn’t fit goes to Anytime or tomorrow. One tap, in Lite.

Routinery lets you skip and pause steps inside a routine. We couldn’t find anything that re-plans the rest of your day.
