Structured alternatives: 7 day planners compared (2026)

Structured is a tidy, affordable timeline planner with a great free version. People look for alternatives when they want more help re-planning a day that slips, calendar sync both ways, or the same features on Android. Here are seven good ones.

Updated 6 November 2026. Facts from each app's own pages.

We read each app's own site, help pages and US store listing on 6 November 2026, and we recheck every month. We make Yoodoo, so we're biased; every app, ours included, gets a 'not for you if'. Nobody paid to be on this list.

Why I wrote this

Structured is the planner I'd recommend to most people on a budget. When people outgrow it, it's usually because they want more help when the day slips, calendar sync both ways, or the same features on Android.

These are the ones I'd look at, mine included, with who each one is really for.

1. Best for re-planning on iPhone and Android

YoodooThat's us

An ADHD day planner that bends when your day breaks. Your tasks and calendar go on one timeline, and when something runs over, one tap fits the rest of the day around what really happened.

My take: Biased, obviously. I built it for the moment the plan stops matching the day, because that was the bit no planner fixed for me.

Good at

  • Fix my day: re-fits the rest of the day in one tap, in the free version, on iPhone and Android
  • A blocker for the apps that eat your mornings, on iPhone and Android (Pro)
  • Say your day out loud and it lands on your timeline
  • Two-way calendar sync (Pro)

Not for you if

  • You want a native iPad, Apple Watch or Mac app (on a computer, Yoodoo runs in the browser with Pro)
  • You need it in a language other than English, for now
  • You want lots of lists and habits for free (Lite has one list and one habit)
Price
Lite is free. Pro is $59.99 a year (7 days free), $7.99 a month or $149.99 once
Runs on
iPhone and Android, plus web and desktop with Pro
Yoodoo's timeline: tasks and calendar events on one day, with the free gaps and a now line

2. Best calm, visual schedule

Tiimo

A calm, colourful visual planner, and Apple's iPhone App of the Year for 2025. It has a free version, with Pro adding things like AI task breakdown.

My take: The prettiest planner on this list, and it earned its awards. If the look gets you opening it every day, that's half the battle.

Good at

  • A gentle, icon-led schedule
  • iPad and Apple Watch apps
  • A good free version

Not for you if

  • You want your plans to sync back to your calendar: Tiimo imports calendars, it doesn't sync both ways
  • You're on Android and want everything now: Tiimo says it's building towards the same features as iPhone
Price
Free version. Tiimo Pro is listed at $54 on the US App Store (it lists other Pro prices too)
Runs on
iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Android and web

3. Best for one task at a time

Llama Life

A focused to-do list where every task gets its own countdown. You work down the list one timer at a time and see when you'll finish.

My take: Simple in the best way. A timer on every task keeps you on one thing at a time.

Good at

  • Timeboxing each task
  • Seeing your list's total time and finish time
  • Very little to set up

Not for you if

  • You want your meetings and tasks on one timeline of the day
  • You want a free version (it's a 7-day trial, then paid)
Price
$39 a year or $6 a month on the US App Store, 7-day trial
Runs on
Web, iPhone and Android

4. Best all-in-one with a free plan

Lunatask

Tasks, habits, mood, a journal and notes in one end-to-end encrypted app, with time blocking and task timers. It says it was designed with ADHD brains in mind.

Good at

  • Everything in one place
  • A generous free plan
  • Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and Android

Not for you if

  • You want something that plans for you rather than a toolbox you set up
Price
Free plan. Premium is $6 a month billed yearly, or $8 monthly
Runs on
Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and Android

5. Best to-do list

Todoist

One of the best-known to-do list apps, with fast capture, projects and sharing, on nearly every device.

My take: A brilliant list, and it's on every device. A list just isn't a day, so it works best next to a planner.

Good at

  • Capturing everything fast
  • Projects and sharing
  • Every platform, Wear OS included

Not for you if

  • You want your day laid out in real time on a timeline
Price
Free plan. Pro is $60 a year ($5 a month billed yearly) or $7 monthly
Runs on
iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux, web, Apple Watch and Wear OS

6. Best for planning at a desk

Sunsama

A calm daily planner for busy professionals, with a guided planning routine and your work tools in one place.

My take: Lovely if your day lives on a laptop. Less so if it lives on your phone.

Good at

  • Pulling in tasks from Slack, Asana and Trello
  • A daily planning routine

Not for you if

  • Your day lives on your phone
  • You want a free version (it says it doesn't plan to have one)
Price
$17 a month billed yearly ($204 a year) or $22 monthly, 14-day trial with no card
Runs on
Web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad and Android

7. Best for scheduling work projects

Motion

An AI work app that schedules your tasks and projects onto your calendar automatically.

My take: Seriously powerful for work teams. For a whole life on your phone it's a lot, and a lot of money.

Good at

  • Auto-scheduling projects for teams

Not for you if

  • You want a calm, phone-first planner for your whole day
  • Price matters
Price
From $19 a seat a month billed yearly, no free plan
Runs on
Web, desktop, iPhone and Android

How to choose

  • You like Structured’s timeline but your day keeps breaking. Try Yoodoo. Same idea of one timeline, but Fix my day re-fits the rest of the day in one tap when something runs over, and it’s free and on Android too.
  • You want it calmer and more visual. Tiimo.
  • You want lists more than a timeline. Todoist, or Llama Life if you want a timer on every task.
  • You plan at a laptop all day. Sunsama, or Motion if a team’s projects are the problem.
  • You want everything (habits, mood, notes) in one free app. Lunatask.

Why people leave Structured

Usually not because it’s bad. It’s quick, clean and cheap. People move on when they want the app to help more once the day goes wrong, when they want tasks to go back to their calendar, or when they’re on Android and miss features like Replan, which Structured’s help centre lists as Apple-only. Here’s Yoodoo vs Structured side by side.

Switching to Yoodoo

Connect your calendar (both ways with Pro), brain dump everything, and when the day slips, fix it in one tap.

Questions

What's the best free alternative to Structured?
Yoodoo Lite is free for good and includes the Day view, Fix my day and the focus timer. Tiimo and Todoist have free versions too, and Lunatask has a free plan with time blocking.
Is there a Structured alternative with two-way Google Calendar sync?
Yes. Yoodoo Pro syncs your calendar both ways, so your tasks show up in Google or Apple Calendar too. Structured's calendar import is one way.
Which Structured alternative works best on Android?
Yoodoo has the same features on Android as on iPhone, including Fix my day and the blocker. Tiimo, Todoist, Lunatask and Llama Life are on Android too.
Is Structured good for ADHD?
Lots of people with ADHD like it, because a visual timeline helps you see the day. Yoodoo was built for ADHD brains first, so it focuses on what happens when the plan breaks.
