Tiimo alternatives: 8 ADHD planners compared (2026)

Tiimo is a lovely visual planner, and it won Apple's iPhone App of the Year for 2025. People look for alternatives when they want something cheaper, something that copes better when the day falls apart, or a different style altogether. Here are eight good ones, and who each is for.

Updated 6 November 2026. Facts from each app's own pages.

We read each app's own site, help pages and US store listing on 6 November 2026, and we recheck every month. We make Yoodoo, so we're biased; that's why every app gets a 'not for you if', ours included. Nobody paid to be on this list.

Why I wrote this

I really like Tiimo. But it isn't for everyone, and people usually go looking for something else because they want it cheaper, want more help when the day falls apart, or just want a different style.

Here's what I'd point you to for each. Yoodoo is on the list, so take that one with a pinch of salt.

1. Best when your day doesn't go to plan

YoodooThat's us

An ADHD day planner that bends when your day breaks. Your tasks and calendar go on one timeline, and when something runs over, one tap fits the rest of the day around what really happened.

My take: Biased, obviously. I built it for the moment the plan stops matching the day, because that was the bit no planner fixed for me.

Good at

  • Fix my day: re-fits the rest of the day in one tap, in the free version
  • A blocker for the apps that eat your mornings, on iPhone and Android (Pro)
  • Say your day out loud and it lands on your timeline
  • Two-way calendar sync (Pro)

Not for you if

  • You want a native iPad, Apple Watch or Mac app (on a computer, Yoodoo runs in the browser with Pro)
  • You need it in a language other than English, for now
  • You want lots of lists and habits for free (Lite has one list and one habit)
Price
Lite is free. Pro is $59.99 a year (7 days free), $7.99 a month or $149.99 once
Runs on
iPhone and Android, plus web and desktop with Pro
Yoodoo's timeline: tasks and calendar events on one day, with the free gaps and a now line

2. Best on a budget

Structured

A clean, visual day planner that puts your tasks and calendar on one timeline. Tidy, quick and cheap, with a good free version.

My take: The one I'd recommend to most people on a budget. Clean, quick, and the free version is generous.

Good at

  • A simple timeline that's quick to fill
  • Low price, and a lifetime option
  • Apple Watch, iPad and Mac apps

Not for you if

  • You're on Android and want Replan, which its help centre says is on Apple devices only
  • You want calendar sync both ways
Price
Free version. Pro is $29.99 a year or $99.99 lifetime on the US App Store (it lists other prices too)
Runs on
iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, Android (fewer features) and web

3. Best for one task at a time

Llama Life

A focused to-do list where every task gets its own countdown. You work down the list one timer at a time and see when you'll finish.

My take: Simple in the best way. A timer on every task keeps you on one thing at a time.

Good at

  • Timeboxing each task
  • Seeing your list's total time and finish time
  • Very little to set up

Not for you if

  • You want your meetings and tasks on one timeline of the day
  • You want a free version (it's a 7-day trial, then paid)
Price
$39 a year or $6 a month on the US App Store, 7-day trial
Runs on
Web, iPhone and Android

4. Best free helper for getting started

Goblin Tools

A set of small, single-job AI tools, mainly built for neurodivergent people. Magic ToDo breaks a task into steps; others estimate how long things take, change the tone of a message, and turn a brain dump into a list.

My take: One of the most useful free things on the internet for ADHD brains. Magic ToDo is brilliant for starting scary tasks.

Good at

  • Breaking a scary task into tiny steps
  • Free on the web, with no ads
  • Cheap phone app

Not for you if

  • You want a planner: there's no timeline or calendar
  • You need reminders through the day
Price
Free on the web. The iPhone app is $0.99 on the US App Store, with an optional Pro at $3.99 a month or $39.99 a year
Runs on
Web, iPhone, iPad and Android

5. Best for gentle self-care habits

Finch

A self-care app where you look after a little bird by looking after yourself: goals, mood check-ins, journaling and breathing.

My take: One of the kindest apps around. Great for small habits, but it won't plan your day.

Good at

  • Making small daily habits feel kind and fun
  • Mood and reflection
  • Free to start

Not for you if

  • You need to plan a working day around meetings
  • You want time blocks and timers
Price
Free download. Finch Plus prices vary; the US App Store lists them from $5.99 to $69.99
Runs on
iPhone, iPad and Android

6. Best all-in-one with a free plan

Lunatask

Tasks, habits, mood, a journal and notes in one end-to-end encrypted app, with time blocking and task timers. It says it was designed with ADHD brains in mind.

Good at

  • Everything in one place
  • A generous free plan
  • Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and Android

Not for you if

  • You want something that plans for you rather than a toolbox you set up
Price
Free plan. Premium is $6 a month billed yearly, or $8 monthly
Runs on
Windows, Mac, Linux, iPhone and Android

7. Best fun focus timer

Focus Friend

A focus timer with a little bean who knits while you focus. Finishing sessions earns things for the bean's room.

Good at

  • Making a focus session feel like a game
  • Deep Focus mode to lock distracting apps
  • Cheap

Not for you if

  • You need a plan for the whole day: it's a timer, not a planner
Price
Free. Pro is $19.99 a year or $3.99 a month on the US App Store
Runs on
iPhone, iPad and Android

8. Best for tinkerers

Amazing Marvin

A to-do app you shape around how your brain works, turning on only the features you want from hundreds of settings.

My take: If you love tweaking settings until an app fits your brain exactly, nothing comes close. If settings overwhelm you, it's a lot.

Good at

  • Deep customisation
  • Desktop apps for Mac and Windows
  • Student and pay-what-you-can discounts

Not for you if

  • Setting things up is where you lose the day
  • You want a free plan
Price
$96 a year, 14-day trial with no card
Runs on
Web, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android

How to choose

Start with the thing that actually goes wrong in your day.

  • Your plan breaks by lunchtime. You need a planner that re-plans with you. That’s why we built Fix my day: one question about what happened, and the rest of the day re-fits around it. Meetings and locked things stay put.
  • You can’t start. Something that shrinks the first step helps most. Goblin Tools’ Magic ToDo is great at that, and Yoodoo’s Ask Yoodoo breaks big tasks into tiny steps on your timeline.
  • You lose time once you start. A countdown per task (Llama Life) or a focus timer with a reason to stay (Focus Friend, or Yoodoo’s focus timer with the blocker) keeps time visible.
  • You want a gentler kind of habit. Finch makes self-care small and kind. Yoodoo’s habits forgive an off day too.
  • You’re on Android. Everything on this list works on Android, and so does Tiimo. Check the feature you care about: some, like Structured’s Replan, are Apple-only.

Why people leave Tiimo

People usually love how Tiimo looks. They look elsewhere for three reasons: the price, wanting more help when the day falls apart, or wanting a different style. If the look is what keeps you opening a planner, stay with Tiimo. It’s a good app. If your days need fixing more than drawing, try one of the above. Here’s Yoodoo vs Tiimo side by side.

Switching to Yoodoo

Bring your calendar in, brain dump your lists, and the first time something runs over, try Fix my day. Lite is free for good after the 7-day trial.

Questions

What's the best free alternative to Tiimo?
It depends on what you use Tiimo for. Structured has a good free version with a visual timeline. Yoodoo Lite is free for good, with the Day view, Fix my day and the focus timer. Goblin Tools is free on the web if you mostly need tasks broken into steps. Lunatask has a free plan with time blocking and habits.
Is there a Tiimo alternative for Android?
Yes, several. Yoodoo, Structured, Llama Life, Goblin Tools, Finch, Lunatask, Focus Friend and Amazing Marvin all have Android apps. Tiimo itself relaunched its Android app in May 2026 and says it's still catching up with iPhone. Some features differ between platforms, so check the one you need.
Which Tiimo alternative is best for ADHD?
Several are built with ADHD in mind, including Yoodoo, Llama Life and Goblin Tools. The best one is the one that fixes the part of your day that goes wrong: re-planning, starting, staying focused or remembering. How to choose, above, matches each problem to an app.
Is Yoodoo cheaper than Tiimo?
Not on the yearly plan. On the US App Store, Tiimo Pro is listed at $54 and Yoodoo Pro is $59.99 a year. Both have a free version. Yoodoo's free Lite includes Fix my day and the focus timer.
Can I move my tasks from Tiimo to another app?
There's no direct import between planners that we know of. The quickest way is to connect your calendar so your meetings come across, then type or say your tasks in one go. In Yoodoo that's a brain dump, and with Pro you can just say it.
